Court of Honor

For our June Court of Honor, we also have a family picnic.  The troop supplies the hamburgs and hot dogs, and each family brings along the other good stuff to eat!  This year, the Court of Honor was a little special, as our Scoutmaster of 6 years was stepping down from the position of Scoutmaster (don't worry, he is still with the troop as an Assistant Scoutmaster and Eagle Advisor). We kicked off around 6:00 with the eats (thanks all of you who got there early to start cooking!), and the Court of Honor opened around 7:15.  The food was great, as usual!  The Scouts and Scouters were presented their awards since the last Court of Honor, and then our outgoing Scoutmaster was honored.  First, the patrols stood at attention while the accomplishments of the Scoutmaster were presented.  An honor patrol of the available Eagle Scouts formed, and they each had something nice to say. There were 14 Scouts who attained the rank of Eagle under the 6 year tenure of Mr. S!  Our Unit Commissioner was there and also had words of thanks to share.  The Youth Pastor of our Charter Organization presented a nice certificate, and the troop presented a nice plaque and gift certificates to Mr. S.  It was a nice ceremony and picnic, and no one went home hungry!
